Welcome to a new post by RedBox Inmobiliaria in which we will discuss new real estate trends caused by COVID-19.

Homes with terrace and garden

Due to the paradigm shift and motivated by the confinement, many people will opt for homes with a terrace or garden areas due to the recent confinement situation that causes people to want to have this type of spaces to enjoy the air despite not being able to go outside.

Offices and sports areas

According to a report by EAE, the COVID19 crisis has motivated teleworking in 88% of companies compared to 4% before the crisis. This fact causes the trend of having remote work areas to be increasingly important. In addition, isolation causes people to exercise and stay fit in their own home, with an uptick in people practicing sports and which makes it fundamental.

Lower demand for new construction

It is expected that the new construction house will be the main victim. Construction companies that had their works and their sales in advanced stages, could see their deliveries delayed and could even be affected by how unemployment affects their buyers. Off-plan sellers may be the most affected.
