Welcome another week to our RedBox Real Estate blog
Today we will talk about the housing of official protection (VPO), which are promoted by the public administration of Spain, and whose offer is below equivalent goods in the market.
Generally, these homes are available to the Government with the aim of giving access to housing to more disadvantaged people or with lower incomes. This type of housing can not be rented or sold, since it is incorrect to profit from them.
Each Autonomous Community establishes a series of requirements, however there are some common criteria such as that applicants have not had an official protection housing previously in Spain.
Applicants cannot own free housing and must be registered in the Autonomous Community in which the VPO is requested.
It should also be noted that from a certain period of time, it is possible to request a disqualification from the VPO so that the house is annulled from its limitations and the owner can freely dispose of it.
